Few places in North America are blessed with this unique privilege of having such ornithological diversity.
Surprisingly More than 90 % of the Credit River Watershed system is privately owned.   That is why such programs as Habitat Restoration & the Certified Hay Program which helps private property owners incentivize their initiatives in the long term protection of this critical migratory & indigenous bird habitat are of critical importance.
A few anecdotal points is that Pasture land detoxifies acidic rain 4 fold over lawn grass or farm land.   It deters copious amounts of runoff and helps purify that runoff.
Habitat restoration, especially reforestation is one the most affordable combatants against climate change.  So by acting locally one can help Globally.
Protecting this beautiful G.T.A backyard sanctuary should be one of the top priorities of every community group & ecologically minded citizen that lives within the environmental shadow of this natural colossus.
