Benign neglect, corrupts safety & home prices !

The Trans Canada Great Trail and the Credit Valley trail that both run north out of the village of Inglewood remains rather perilous when busy with the gamut of users !
There have been repeated promises over the last 4 or 5 years to relocate the village speed limits signs northwards to help mitigate vehicle speeds for that additional 300 yards (1/3 of km) when entering or leaving the village limits.  The logistics behind this tiny safety upgrade fall squarely into your jurisdiction as the local councillor (2 men with a shovel). Please advise when this tiny facet of civic governance will become reality. (the feeble 30 yard fall adjustment remains laughable).
Let me share a simple reality of yesterday morning;   while walking the dogs the fire trucks Returning from another traffic accident call on the highway 10 sped past Karin as she was manually gesturing to slow down, as it was obvious their speed was Well in Excess of the posted 60 km.   The driver kindly waved back, but not for a moment was the speed limit sign of 60 km acknowledged.
Factually Regional & town trucks behave only marginally better. The reality that the shoulder of the road just north of the knoll is not 3 feet wide(west side) & the road surface is in near deplorable condition makes this a prime fault equation. Metaphorically this is the equivalent of asking teenagers to play ball hockey width wise on highway 10 during rush hour. Certainly it adds a real level of sportiness to staying physically fit, while living in Caledon.
Your immediate attention to this miniscule request will not only marginally enhance property values throughout the village but more importantly be an impetus for a more interactive & vibrant community.  Hundreds of studies have unequivocally demonstrated that 40 km per hour or < should be the speed limit for entering or exiting our villages & hamlets. This hard baked scientific fact of the relationship with vehicular speed and bipedal injuries is indisputable.   The basic logic relating to promoting an enhanced living environment is self explanatory.
Please keep in mind that microscopic changes such as these can also mitigate the skyrocketing provincial healthcare costs;    By simply making Caledon a greener, safer & physically more active community.   This last issue should remain a top social priority. When it can be accomplished for the few shekels involved in moving a 4 or 5 signs, there are no more excuses. We sincerely look forward to having the signs moved full haste.
