Mardi Gras Doppelgangers & Emblematic Ambassadors for International Women’s Day

While at Harvard, Cecilia Payne was credited by Otto Sturve with writing the most brilliant PhD thesis ever written. That thesis involved explaining the hypothesis that the stars primary elements are helium and hydrogen. Some 25 years later she subsequently became Harvard’s first female professor and the first woman to become a department chair. Reflectively, she and others of her generation moved our culture forward one book at a time.
