March Break Activity Ideas!

Posted on Posted in Caledon

March Break is one of the most exciting weeks of the year for youth – an entire week of no school, and plenty of time for fun! This year, the Covid-19 pandemic has limited excitement in this regard, by restricting available activities for kids to engage in during their time off. That being said, many kids are finding that their parents are also undertaking mandatory time off from work. Thus, a postitive aspect of March Break this year, is that these kids will be enjoying the week off with their parents, as opposed to in a childcare facility.

The staff at Accurate (Peel) Appraisals would like to propose some opportunities for youth and adults to make the best of this otherwise concerning time.

Firstly, why not spend time outdoors in uncrowded locations? Ontario has plenty of beautiful, nature-filled parks and trails to spend these sunny days – for instance, the Caledon Trailway. Parents are encouraged to have their children bring garbage bags and give back to the environment by cleaning up garbage. We also recommend bringing stale bread to feed the ducks and geese, and taking pictures of the various species of trees and birds! Feel free to send photos to admin@reappraisals.ca to be featured on our social media pages!

Moreover, there are also various indoor activities for kids and adults. Perhaps, this could be an opportunistic time to drink hot chocolate and curl up with a great book, or stream a movie or TV series you have been meaning to watch. Family activities could include playing board games, cooking/baking together, arts and crafts, or having a video chat family dinner with loved ones who live a distance away!

The opportunities are – although it may not feel this way – endless. While this virus may be limiting activities, there is one thing it is giving us, and also inevitably encouraging us to appreciate… time with those we care most about. Moreover, please remember, we are all in this together!

Wishing you a wonderful March Break!
