11 Missing High in Sky – Light Standards at 410 & 10… Why ???

Posted on Posted in Caledon, Transport Supportive Development, Uncategorized

Dear Friends,
Driving north on Highway 410 at night can be at bit like looking for Waldo when you hit the Valleywood / Highway 10 merge. There is a conspicuous absence of light standards through that last 2 km of undulating roadway. Why these mandated light poles have not been installed by the M.T.O. in the last 4 years is certainly a logical aberration, especially since it is so diligently patrolled by the O.P.P. for wayward drivers. If this confluence of roadways is deemed such a high priority safety concern area, evidenced again by the prompt way the speed limit is abruptly lowered (to the chagrin of many thousands of motorists), then why the delay to install the blatantly missing 11 light standards? If safety is really the issue, then there is no logical reason why these lights should not be installed immediately.
Regional Councillor Alan Thompson, supported by M.P.P Sylvia Jones, has recently approached the M.T.O. about this safety deficiency. Please feel free to voice your support by contacting them directly or by contacting your local Councillor. The lives of some one you love could hang in the balance.
Just 2 weeks of winter left according to our beloved meteorologist, Wiarton Willie. Let’s all hope he is right. Minus 29 last night sure makes one wonder…

Cheers,

Tom
